Head First Design Patterns
April 21st, 2006
What a great book! I had read some of the GOF Design Patterns book but feel like I understood only some of the patters well enough to use them. Sure, everybody can create a singleton class, but when should you use a decorator and what’s do you give up in the process? From its beginning, the Head First book is engaging and presents problems in ways that makes you really interact with the text and learn the material. I’m sold on the Head First style! I had seen this book before and wondered what the hell O’Reilly was doing. What’s with the trendy looking chick on the front of the book and all the random notes in the inside of the book? Well, with exception to the chick on the front, now I get it. This book may be next on my tech book list. Or, maybe this one.
