Apple and Google
March 5th, 2007Apple and Google are working on more new things according to Eric Schmidt. I’ve already stated that I think Apple will dump .Mac and partner with Google for equivalent .Mac services and other new services syncing that will become neccessary when the iPhone arrives. I also think that Leopard will bring calendar syncing with Google Calendars and sharing between many Apple apps and Google services.
It’s interesting that Apple claims that the iPhone will sync contacts from a “PC, Mac, or internet service” but to my knowledge they have not said how this will work. Moreover, David Pogue plainly states that the iPhone will not sync with Outlook. I think he asked this question to the Apple execs when he was given his iPhone time. Not syncing with Outlook will be a contrast with what today’s iPods can do: they sync with Outlook.
